Recovery

The economic recovery plan the democrat party is running with is so bad- so utterly, horribly, tragically awful I, I don't even know where to start.

First off why? Why do we have to save banks? I know it's complicated and people waaay smarter than me have tried in vain to make me see how without our credit we will collapse but it seems to me that credit is precisely the problem.

Credit means, I do not have the money to pay today but I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a cheeseburger today.

Credit is a gamble. It is essentially I THINK I will have the money, I don't now mind you, I haven't saved it to this point but... ima gonna. hmm? Whether this is done for a cheeseburger or on Wall St. by huge lending firms it seems to me to always be a very bad idea.

Rather than prop up the banks perhaps some should fail? I would think these Darwinist's would believe in the natural selection that IS capitalism. Alas, no.

I am feeling a little Twilight Zone-y because I am no Economist but I have stayed in a Holiday Inn Express a lot, and I watch Fox Business. I remember for about 4-5 years hearing caution after caution after ignored caution about the real estate bubble. How home prices were inflated and people must stop borrowing against their homes and so forth.

How is it an absolute nobody in nowhere USA like me saw this coming but these financial wizards did not? Here's a hint - they saw it. They knew it would be bad, they just didn't know how bad, and they didn't know how much worse it could get if the demi-s got control. Now they are sweating bullets.

Let me tell you something else. Once upon a time we had a big fat savings, then one day a monster storm named Katrina cost us all of it. We survived because we were prepared we were not in debt then. Today we live one month at a time medical bills piling up, trying to get back on top again. So, if it hits the fan again for us it will take us out and we'll be starting all over again. No big deal, it's the way the cookie crumbled. But I look at this "stimulus" and I see nothing but a country wiping out our kids future, crossing our fingers that things will get better, while we spend that money on a few things we do need, and a lot we don't. Now tell me what will happens if it hits the fan here again - 9/11, Katrina, a major earthquake? When the savings is tapped out, the income has slowed to a trickle, everyone is fearful and a big bill comes due? Then what? I don't know either.

It makes us so vulnerable I am sick just thinking about it.
