You betcha I would waterboard you

You better freakin' believe if you had information that would save the lives of people I loved, innocent Americans, I would waterboard your sorry cookies so fast your couldn't say saran wrap.

What kills me is this "disturbing report" about how doctors were present taking vitals and checking the terrorists to be sure they weren't in danger. Checking pulse oxy, pulse, etc. That is a bad thing? If anything that shows that we are compassionate that this was an interrogation and that they weren't going to die.

Then O-blah,blah, blah Ma says he is like Winston Churchill who said we don't torture. HA!!!!! They didn't teach History at Harvard. The British had places where Germans were beaten within inches of their life! The RAF targeted civilians that were aiding the Germans, it goes on and on.

What an idiot. He makes us less safe every single day. History will tell this story very differently than our geniuses over at The View. Go back friends and read what people were saying before WWII. Joe Kennedy - Mr. Appeasement, plenty of people, celebrities, politicians loved and respected Hitler. They wanted to negotiate with him. They wanted to keep that ugly mess on the other side of the pond.

Can I get $400,000?

going once, going twice sold to President Obama $320,000.

The Obamination is the proud owner of a $300,000+ photo of Air Force One flying over the Statue of Liberty. This was at a low altitude. People panicked, ran for their lives.

After a week of pressure the White House released ONE photo Friday night after the press corps had left for the weekend. Are we to believe they snapped one photo....one? It was shot from an F-16 and we are supposed to believe they took one photo, clicked the shutter....once. Please, they did all this, spent all this cash, which let's not forget we are in a recession/depression for this!? This Harvard geniuses have never heard of Photoshop? They act like AF One is a new toy, they let their friends take it out for spin?

The bug up my butt is the utter lack of transparency. They dodged this for a week, they didn't come clean, hoped it would go away, and then they release after hours on a weekend, hoping it will be buried and not brought back up next week. Transparent or thin?

So the American People are proud owners of a pic that cost 1/3 of a million dollars. Oh well te way this chump is handing out dough you would think he is spending Monopoly money not money we have worked to earn.

Not to worry, some poor loser fell on his sword, took the wrap, and resigned. He'll be in a cushy job somewhere with a financial contributor before the week ends. poor guy. Not that anyone will report it, because they are entirely too busy asking the hard questions like, "Mr. President, what enchants you the most about the Presidency?" yes and actual question.

I don't think I will last to the end of this joke. When is the primary?

Fairness Doctrine

Liberals were practically hysterical over the Patriot Act. If I heard Sean (Chavez is my BFF) Penn say once I heard him and his artsy fartsy friends say a thousand times that there was nothing Patriotic about the Patriot Act.
Look here hippies, there is nothing FAIR about the Fairness Act/Doctrine/Legislation. What is it? Well my intention with this blog was never to educate, but to tell you what I think about the things I think, you should be thinking about it but just in case you are too busy to listen to Rush, watch Glenn Beck, or tune into C-Span (true reality tv & good actors!) then let me butcher a summary for you...

Essentially this is liberals back door effort to shutdown conservative talk radio. They believe conservatives dominate talk radio and cable news (we do) and they don't like what we have to say. They think that this opinionated kind of talk should be fair and balanced so if there is 6 hrs of conservative talk then there have to be 6 hrs of liberal talk or buh-bye. They tried to start liberal talk radio but it fell horribly flat. CNN is hammered in ratings by Fox, MSNBC has given up any guise of being news and is pure hack work now.
It is not enough they have the Presidency, the Congress, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, all major newspapers, all major magazines, celebrity, Oprah, and a new puppy. They have to shut down any voices that disagree.

Where is the ACLU? All the players on the left are on board - from the Obamination to Pelosi, the Botox Bride of Al Franken right down to America's cheerleader Katie (I stole Suze Orman's haircut) Couric.

Where does the ACLU get it's $$$ ? It's not really about liberty it's about agenda.
I wish I was one of those people who could say contact your congressman but I can't. Here in the dismal Land of Lincoln, home of Blagojevich and Obama, and Chicago Community Terrorist er, I mean activists so it wouldn't matter much. But if you have someone who cares, or who isn't corrupt, call 'em.
Is it just me or when you see Blagojevich do you hear..."what would you do if I sang out of tune..."
Anywho if you don't know about the Fairness Doctrine that tramples on Freedom of Speech go find out about it.

where I was

To vent or not to vent? That is the question.

This week I asked the gal I trust the most (T) to please delete my draft folders and private blog in the event of my untimely death. What I say in my most private angry moments is really not fit for others to hear. So it is with the original version of this post. I didn't think when I said it there would be a hit out on me but there may be now.

In April I came to the end of my patience and tolerance with bullies. I let them and unfortunately everyone else in ear shot know it. I really, really lost it. If you know me then you know that is not going to be pretty. Especially not when I dropped everything I was doing to go have this confrontation.

I was cleaning. Wearing a t-shirt that said, "I'm not the boss of you but I know what you should be doing." Hair clean but wholly disheveled frizzy, pinned and clipped in a half dozen places. No make-up, glasses, face blood red, shaking, furious, and looking for some resolution. I looked like the Wild Woman of Borneo. It was ugly.

I lost friends, learned some truths about others, and realized that homeschool groups are actually no different than the public schools when it comes to bullies and parents. No one wants to do anything. No one will stand up to them. No one will make them leave.

Homeschool teenagers are no different than public school kids if the parents are no different. Christians can't stand up for what is right because they can't agree what it is. Peer pressure is as prevalent and damaging in Christian and homeschool circles as it is in every secular arena - among the parents as the kids. Which, I'm sorry, is tragic.

I was accused of gossip, by a gossip and told I was holding a grudge by someone, eh hem holding a grudge - same person. I saw some of the boldest hypocrisy in that exchange that I've ever seen. It was one of the saddest days in my life. My eyes were opened, my heart was broken by the disappointment and disillusionment in someone I respected once. No more.

I learned some parents actually do not want to know if their kids are messing up. They are too busy to be bothered. Others however seem to care deeply and were willing to say so, it should be said. I was naive enough to think that all Christian parents would want to know what the kids are doing. I was stupid enough to think that the parents would believe adults. I was foolish enough to think that grown women could have compassion.

I realized that you really do find out who your friends are and sometimes it breaks your heart.

I realized that some adults won't stand up for their friends, not if it's complicated or makes them uncomfortable. Some people want to be Switzerland. Oh people like to get up their high horse about every social issue in the world, politics, gay marriage, etc. But let a little real moral dilemma wander into their life so that they have to choose sides and say what is right and they cave.

How are we supposed to tell our kids to stand up for what is right if we can't? So I did, I lost some friends, and left every single social circle I was a part of as a result. Not only am I not sorry, am I glad. Relieved. Blessed. Peaceful. Good decision.

Here is the point I want to drive home. If you can't stand up to your friends when they are wrong, how in the hell can you stand up to your enemies? If you can't identify wrong, how can you battle it? If the path of less resistance is attractive, ask yourself why? I won't hear preaching about gay marriage from someone who lies to my face. You have NO standing. You are steeped in you own sin, and need to check the log in your own eye. Don't preach patience and tolerance and forgiveness and then forget about looking out for the meek, the bullied. Hypocrisy is the number one reason non-Christian sight as their reason for not being a Christian.

Since I'm on forgiveness...

what does it mean? Should someone forgive their abuser? Yes. Why? For the abuser? NO! for the victim's well being. For the victim's peace. God told us to - of course, why?? He wants us to forgive because it's GOOD for us. Yes, the Bible says if they slap one cheek, let them slap the other but it does NOT say, go out and find people who will slap you ad then meet up with them twice a week so they can do it.

Some people want forgiveness for those whom they deem as regretful. For forgiveness to be sought THREE things have to happen:

True repentance (it's not enough to hear someone is sorry, you can tell if they are)
Reparation (they have to make it right - it ain't easy)
Change (do not do it again)

The last thing I will tolerate, yes I am intolerant when it's appropriate- is being told to forgive and repair by someone who doesn't understand the definition. I won't be promised change by someone who does not possess the power to change.

This post was written a month ago - I was very angry, disgusted in fact. I re-read it, and it stands. But I'm not angry anymore. There are none so blind as though who will not see, and for those who prefer to stick their heads in the sand - the truth always comes out. Many truths have been brought to my attention in the last few weeks. None I would bother sharing because if someone refuses to believe they are on fire, what can you do? grab a marshmellow? harsh, I know. Okay that was snarky... but the truth will stand when the world is on fire.

Now moving on.

Tea Time and the American Way

Tea parties sprang up across the country. Texas is mumbling about secession, and a few Republicans have decided they can grab on to this issue and get a blurb on the cable news shows.

My bigger problem is the class war the libs are perpetrating.

C'mon. Look, if this type of event will get people to start thinking about what the government is stealing from us then great, let's have tea parties, and protests, and I will lead the parade. But the sad truth is the majority of Americans do not understand. If they knew the facts they wouldn't care. Rich people are now the bad guys. They are evil and must be stopped. They must be removed from the ivory towers and dragged to jail. genius, really.

So let's imagine this financial situation were a farm. Farmer makes some bad loans, knowingly even, makes bad decisions. He is getting richer from the bad business but eventually it implodes and the farm hands lose their investment. The farmer does too but he's still got the farm, his house, etc.

There are a couple options. They will drag him out and whoop the snot out of him, get arrested and lose their job. The farmer can find other workers and the farm goes on. OR The farmer will realize this was bad business and he will learn from that mistake and have to make it up to the workers with interest in the farm, or incentive to continue to work. Open books, management, whatever.

The third option which was never on the table until Osama, I mean Obama took over is the government will take away the guy farm. Jail him. Publicly humiliate him. Then takeover his farm.

The poor (the farm hands) think this sounds pretty good at first (off with the farmers head!) but you see government knows nothing about farming. They know even less about the seasons that little patch of earth endures, or the soil, the flooding, the people, reading the sky, knowing what to do when there are changes and the commodities market shifts. So a pencil pusher will be in charge. They hand it off to the farm hands to run. Here is the unpleasant truth. The farm hands are "hands" becaue they didn't have what it took to run the farm in the first place.

They had a point the farmer did wrong. His decisions cost people money. He should fix the problem.

But what we don't do in the United States of America is takeover a private business and supplant the government as CEO. THAT is socialism, that is the road to fascism.

This lust for wealthy blood is UN-American.

The Demi's cried that Bush was a fear mongerer for 8 yrs. All they have done is fear mongering. Turning our country into an all out class warfare.

Let me tell you something if you tooks ALL the money from one side and gave it to the poor. In 5 years - FIVE years te poor would be poor again and the wealthy would be wealthy again. The poor like to think it is just bad luck what made 'em poor. HA no, friends it is their own choices. They have chosen to their lifestyle. It's not nice, it's not politically correct but it is the truth.

We must stop the ceasing of private industry. If the farm fails, let it fail!!! Someone else, a better farmer will see it as an opportunity, scoop it up and make it a success. That is the American Way.

Feed the Hungry

Observation really is the key to understanding. Looking for the details and realizing their importance.

The Captain of a seized United States of America merchant vessel is being held prisoner by "pirates". This is major news and the story reporters seem to care most about is getting a shot of him trying to escape or sound bytes from the crew he save by his sacrifice.

This man's imprisonment is very important. Of course my prayers are with him and those who wait for his safe return.

But one detail that caught my attention, and which seems to be virtually unreported is that his ship was on a mission of mercy. They were carrying food to the hungry in Somalia. These pirates are starving out their own people by their actions! The governments involved are largely uncivilized, corrupt and I'm sorry they are sick. These same African governments allow the torture and abuse of women and children, child slavery, slavery, and they allow their people to starve. This is not a money issue it is a political one. We could wallpaper our home with donations receipts to organizations to feed the hungry but if we cannot get the food to them...then what? I ask then what?

It doesn't matter how we try to get the aid to them. Gang and tribal leaders (also known as thugs, murderers, and evil criminals) steal, bribe, and kill for the goods. This is the same thing that occured in Iraq under Hussein.

Do you think these poor souls know how much money is sent for them? No. They don't exactly have cable. They are so desperate they have to depend on the generosity of the gangs to provide them the smallest of sustenance. Which is only provided when they "allow" aid through.

The United Nations does NOTHING. The representatives of these countries are treated like royalty. They come to our country and find safe haven and immunity, and they ask for more handouts to save their people.

The UN is doing nothing to save our American citizen who is captured. Diplomacy at work means nothing is happening.

The reason we have not taken back our man is really simple, politics. These ragged, pathetic, pirates should feel the weight of a naval boot on their throat when our man is returned. But then that would probably violate the UN mandates on how to handle thieves, murderers, and vermin like these. The UN will send them to a cozy trial where they will not be punished for this offense and before the ice in my tea melts these sea rats will be at it again.

I want to feed the hungry, we do the sponsor a child thing and have for years but if the money can't get in. If it is being used to fund the pirating of American Enterprise and International aid, then I can't do so in good conscience. This is insane.

Right to Privacy

This "right to privacy" being bantered around with regards to Health records currently is also at the root of the abortion debate agenda so we must be careful.

The Constitution does not specifically guarantee a citizen's right to privacy. It does not mention it at all. It does assert specific rights for example aright to worship, speak, etc which are inherently a persons private life but more so it address a person's liberty. These basic rights have been have beenmisconstrued and expanded to imply that the Constitution therefore intends and includes a general right to privacy in every area. Right to Privacy is a slippery slope.

NAMBLA for example asserts this phantomright in their abuse of boys. They believe children have a right to sexualprivacy. Abortion activists believe and successfully compelled the SupremeCourt to grant a right to privacy as it relates to pregnancy. Some want legalized drug use, prostitution, and the list goes on because this is theirprivate life. I think rights of privacy must be narrowly construed as set forth by the Constitution. The Constitution should not be re-written from the bench. Liberty is a critical consideration always, always. But asserting those liberties must be done carefully and prayerfully so that those whose agendas are detrimental to the basic welfare of our society can not twist and distort that liberty to our ultimate demise.

There is a delicate balance in weighing the individuals right against the greater good of society and rarely will we agreeon how to strike that balance. I think the framers of the Constitution hit the important points in the Bill of Rights and that must be respected. If Congress wants to legislate addition rights so be it - we have a process for that whereour voices are heard through electing those officials. The courts are trying to legislate however through their "interpretation" and we have NO say in their appointments. This is very dangerous ground we are treading, this is the Constitution.

Blowing Smoke

Life has been so busy and the news so bleak that I have scarcely had the desire to write about politics.

I was chatting with friends a few weeks ago and we discussed "cap and trade". Please take a moment and google it. Cap and trade is not a horrible goal. The tragedy of this plan is all in the timing. This is not the time to further increase the burdens on our system, industry and the economy.

Not to mention ALL emissions reduction programs are ridiculous if India and China aren't going to be making changes. These are the world's greatest polluters not us. For all the Dems love of people world citizens they certainly are quick to blame us for the world's problems. They can't even make up their minds. Should we lead the world in being green or follow Europe in socialized health care? lead, follow, lead, follow

It's actually fairly easy to spot the socialism in 'em when they do this - pick and choose.

They are all for green energy unless someone wants to build a wind farm in the Hamptons. John Kerry pitched a hissy fit as did the Kennedy's when they realized the plans for it off the coast would obscure the view from the Kennedy Compound. Don't preach to me about driving hybrids and replacing my light bulbs when you live on a COMPOUND.

As usual the middle class (or what's left of us) will be saving the planet while the fat hypocrites talk down to us. I am not someone who subscribes to class warfare. Not even a little bit. But I abhore rich liberal hypocrisy. I think we could eliminate green "gas" emissions if we plug up the pie holes of a few of my favorite Democrats ever time they say the word green.

Recovery

The economic recovery plan the democrat party is running with is so bad- so utterly, horribly, tragically awful I, I don't even know where to start.

First off why? Why do we have to save banks? I know it's complicated and people waaay smarter than me have tried in vain to make me see how without our credit we will collapse but it seems to me that credit is precisely the problem.

Credit means, I do not have the money to pay today but I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a cheeseburger today.

Credit is a gamble. It is essentially I THINK I will have the money, I don't now mind you, I haven't saved it to this point but... ima gonna. hmm? Whether this is done for a cheeseburger or on Wall St. by huge lending firms it seems to me to always be a very bad idea.

Rather than prop up the banks perhaps some should fail? I would think these Darwinist's would believe in the natural selection that IS capitalism. Alas, no.

I am feeling a little Twilight Zone-y because I am no Economist but I have stayed in a Holiday Inn Express a lot, and I watch Fox Business. I remember for about 4-5 years hearing caution after caution after ignored caution about the real estate bubble. How home prices were inflated and people must stop borrowing against their homes and so forth.

How is it an absolute nobody in nowhere USA like me saw this coming but these financial wizards did not? Here's a hint - they saw it. They knew it would be bad, they just didn't know how bad, and they didn't know how much worse it could get if the demi-s got control. Now they are sweating bullets.

Let me tell you something else. Once upon a time we had a big fat savings, then one day a monster storm named Katrina cost us all of it. We survived because we were prepared we were not in debt then. Today we live one month at a time medical bills piling up, trying to get back on top again. So, if it hits the fan again for us it will take us out and we'll be starting all over again. No big deal, it's the way the cookie crumbled. But I look at this "stimulus" and I see nothing but a country wiping out our kids future, crossing our fingers that things will get better, while we spend that money on a few things we do need, and a lot we don't. Now tell me what will happens if it hits the fan here again - 9/11, Katrina, a major earthquake? When the savings is tapped out, the income has slowed to a trickle, everyone is fearful and a big bill comes due? Then what? I don't know either.

It makes us so vulnerable I am sick just thinking about it.

Compromise is overrated

Bi-partisanship sounds wonderful.

"What we need in Washington is cooperation!" Right?

No, not when it means compromising what is good and right. There is a great chasm of difference between cooperation and compromise. Compromising with the Democrats means sacrificing what we know to be good for this country for what we are certain is dangerous, risky and ultimately inherently against our core beliefs.

We teach our children to stand up for what you believe in, even if it's not popular. But we tell those who are entrusted with our safety, our livelihood, the future of our great nature to give in on their beliefs for the sake of bi-partisanship? No thanks. Keep it, better yet...stick it.

I'm sorry but there are issues for which there is NO compromise. Terrorists are bad for our health. We don't want them running loose, we need to capture them, lock them away forever, and help foster a new generation of Middle Eastern citizens which aren't bent on our annihilation. Don't tell me you can't catch them all either. They are not brave or fierce they hide, they are afraid. They need resources, leaders and they need to make others afraid of them. We've been doing a pretty good job being safe and scooping up the terrorists and bopping them on the heads until Commander Cowardice took over. What a disappointment. I wouldn't want him leading a lemonade stand let alone the greatest military the world has ever known.

This stimulus package is no different. We cannot cave in just so they can say "they worked with us." "They compromised." "They wanted a new spirit in Washington."

If Republicans have any hope at all of restoring the confidence of the country in our party they have to get their spunk, shall we say, out of Nancy Pelosi's designer handbag.

I believe that the best ideas will prevail. The problem we have is that our ideas, our beliefs, truth, reason, and common sense have not been communicated. We lost the argument because we could not communicate, not because our ideas were wrong. This is why we cannot compromise. Rather we must communicate our points effectively. If our elected Republicans refuse to do the job and stand up for Conservatism they need a new line of work.

We need to stand firm against every piece of this horrible administration's legislation and take NO part of it. Do not compromise our security. Do not compromise our troops. Do not compromise our economy. Do not compromise our future. Do not compromise with terrorists. Do not compromise with liberals. Just say no to compromise.

For the love of Pete...READ!

I'm pulling out bits of my hair again. It's not pretty.

Conservatives are fired up now. Great folks, thanks for joining us back here on a little place I like to call, EARTH. We missed you.

Why oh why, don't people self educate? People google all kinds of ridiculous things, people have the most inane hobbies, we watch hours of tv, we waste entire lifetimes in mindless twaddle but we can't educate ourselves about our own government? History? Religion? Marriage? Parenting?

C'mon, we have entire channels devoted to shopping, soap operas, sports (oh yeah, I went there) and we can't find time to read a book that might actually shape our lives, change our course, improve the world, make us better parents, spouses, citizens? Give me a break. Put a good book in the bathroom, read something useful instead of reading about Brangelina and their happy brood.

If you don't want to that's fine, that's a choice. But don't come whining to me that you didn't understand the consequences of a new Supreme Court nominee, stimulus packages, spanking, communication, the Constitution, religious fanatics or why your kids are not turning out so bright or motivated.

It has to go deeper than reading about it on Yahoo news alerts. You see if you read, if you educate yourself, you can actually figure out what is happening BEFORE Katie Couric tells you. You might even see it coming. It might affect how you vote, how you live, and in some cases, where you spend your eternity (for this I can recommend a Good Book).

Please, please read something of substance. You might think it's dry at first but that's just because your brain is used to being spoon fed what to think. You might encounter big words, run-on sentences, philosophy, and you might even find yourself angry, or worse! Passionate about something.

This of course is not meant for most of you. You are reading this blog which means you are thinking and interested in doing more. Perhaps this is meant for a neighbor, a co-worker, parent, sibling, or child. Do them a favor print it and hide it with the remote.

There is only one way to change our future - understand our past.

I will try to add what I consider required reading this weekend. Meanwhile please leave a comment about a book that changed your life.

Now I must go and comb the remnants of sanity into place.

Signed,
Your Faithful Housewife

Money Tree

Apparently money DOES grow on trees. This tree is not native to the United States but rather a mutant hybrid, liberalus democratus which has been unnaturally bred secretly here for decades. This rare tree requires large amounts of horse manure to thrive. It must be planted in soil which is toiled and tended by working upper middle class people.

The fruit of the tree, money, disappears almost as quickly as grows. Though the branches are thin and spindly, breaking easily in gentle winds the roots of the tree run unusually deep. The roots will drain life giving water, minerals and other critical resources within a 1000 mile radius. The liberal democratus commonly know as a Democrat, or in coastal areas as a Liberal Democrat grows wildy out of control, very quickly. Reporters are gathering to document the growth of a current tree in Washington D.C that is expected to yield a TRILLION dollars.

They are however remaining a safe distance away as scientists assert that when the Liberal Democrat has soaked every potential resource and sprouted all the money it is able, it will snap, and splinter ferociously, sending toothpick size splinters for thousands of miles. Alarmists warn it will feel like shrapnel when it strikes. It cannot be contained or destroyed. They fear it will strike without discrimination, injuring our children and grandchildren for years to come. Though the strike will not be deadly it will weaken, and leave vulnerable every American it strikes.

The only hope is to be nominated as a cabinet member in the Obama administration so that you will be freed from tax burdens, paid well, and kept by lobbyists who know how to skirt the system. Space is limited so apply now.

PS
Please do not forward requests for money, it is not meant for you. The Liberal Democrat itself determines where the money is best sent.

Silent

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out -

Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out -

Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews and I did not speak out -

Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me -

and there was no left to speak for me.

~ Attributed to Martin Nienoller (1892-1984) anti-Nazi German pastor

In an effort to "purify" German society, the Nazis transformed psychiatric hospitals and clinics into centers for mass murder. Using the cover of war, Adolf Hitler authorized the so-called "euthanasia" program, in which more than 70,000 disabled Germans, judged by their physicians to be "life unworthy of life," were killed in gas chambers or by lethal injection or poison between 1939 and 1941.

The quotes above are excerpts from materials I purchased at the United States Halocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C.

As I looked over these materials this afternoon I recalled how deeply moved and upset the Halocaust Museum experience was for me. If you have not had the opportunity to visit I cannot urge you strongly enough to make the trip. As homeschoolers it is an invaluable experience. Words, even pictures cannot adequately portray the emotions that hit you when you stand before the crematorium ovens with the actual shoes of those murdered in baskets beside you and their pictures floor to ceiling.

I remember the shudder that ran through my body when I thought of the millions of babies being cremated everyday after being aborted. A halocaust continues, sanctioned by our government, our courts and applauded by our President and Congress. I'm sure you probably know this, and yes it's grim but abortion clinics typically put the babies on ice and then, when they have enough to warrant firing up the oven, they cremate them too. The similarities are sickening. Experimentations, selling their parts, horrors done in the name of science. Can someone please explain to me why genocide is horrific but infanticide is not?

People lived and worked in concentration camps and they said nothing. People live and work in towns with abortion clinics and say and do nothing, today, right now. They of course, are not unborn babies. But this thinking, this belief system, this unholy lack of respect for life, this refusal to acknowledge the sovereign right of God alone to give and take life, it will not stop at the unborn. I hope those who carry on their lives each day without thought to the cremations happening around the corner never find themselves disabled, unwanted, mentally ill, terminally ill, or a burden on society. When the government is paying for healthcare will they be deciding who deserves care and who does not? When someone's care becomes a burden on the society, what then? When it opposes political trends what then?

We must speak for those who cannot. Not just because it is right, not just because God calls us to do so but if those reasons are not compelling enough then speak up my friends because one day they will come for you and who will be left to speak for you?

A Boiling Mad Housewife

I often use the analogy of "how to boil a frog" when speaking about Democrats and liberal agendas. If you place a frog into a pot of boiling water he jumps out immediately but, put him in cold water and raise the temperature very slowly and he won't notice. He'll sit still and die. To save time let me say go on and apply that concept to virtually all their ideas, they have an ulterior motive.

The boiled frog I want to speak of today is the "living wage." Before discussing the concept let's look at the word. It was once called a minimum wage, it was the very minimum an employee could be paid. It was to correct the behavior of industries who preyed upon the poorest by not paying any reasonable amount for their work. They were able to do so because those workers were destitute and pennies were better than nothing. It was in my opinion an example of where government standards and regulations for industry were reasonable but liberals hi-jacked the unions and the ideas to implant more socialism in our industries.

You have to hand it to liberals they have done a beautiful job of making us look bad on about every issue, this one is no different. What kind of ogre could ever be against a living wage and want people to live in poverty? A minimum wage is innocuous but a living wage has a different connotation, don't we want people to live? We ignored it, bought the marketing of the idea, and guess what? You need to wake up because it's getting a bit bubbly in this pot!

I do not support a Living Wage. I do support a fair minimum wage. Let's think about it, minimum wage is the MINIMUM someone can get paid EVER. The worst worker doing the easiest job has to make minimum wage. Teenagers have to make minimum wage. There should be a pretty big difference between the minimum wage and a living wage but they are now one in the same.

If people cannot support a family on the minimum wage then what shall we do? Maybe they shouldn't be pollinating families all over town until they have some skill or education that qualifies them for something better than a minimum wage. Maybe they will have to work two jobs, work and go to school, sacrifice, and pull themselves up a rung or two on the ladder of success. Ah! The horror. Why is that a bad thing? Why is sacrifice and hard work a bad thing? Why on earth would The United States of America pursue a policy that tells people they don't have to work hard to achieve a good standard of living? Why would we advertise that people can do the minimum, the bottom of the barrel minimum and live just fine? Are we really surprised illegal immigration is out of control? Or that our industrial jobs are outsourced, and we can't compete in many industries like textiles anymore?

This was the land of opportunity. Come here, work hard, achieve the American Dream. Now, everyone is entitled to the American Dream? No. No they are not. This dream is not a freebie, it is an opportunity, and it's the same for everyone they ARE entitled to the opportunity. All that means is you are living here and sucking wind...the rest is up to you friend. Some people pull better pole positions but the last time I checked the biographies of every successful person, ever, included some hard knocks and setbacks. Stop whining and just work hard, at something.

So yes, we need a minimum wage. It should not support a family of four, that's absurd. It should be commiserate with a completely unskilled young worker. Like my teenager when he was 16 and needed gas money, and money for fast food, movies, Cd's and such so he got his first job. Before entering the workforce though he took lifeguard certifications, so he never made minimum wage, he also isn't trying to pay child support for 3 babies by the age of 18.

Liberal definitions of living wage includes cable TV, cars, getting your nails done, $200 purses, coats, and tennis shoes, and a large family to support. YIKES! They need like $15 an hour maybe without losing all their government benefits too. C'mon, that is insane.

My definition is walk, ride a bike or take the bus (you would think the tree huggers would support that). Live with family if you must. Save your money. Eat macaroni and cheese everyday and go to church giveaways for clothes so you can save your money. Don't smoke, don't drink, don't use drugs, don't party, don't have a flat screen TV with 200 digital channels. I'll be over here holding my breath.

Here's what really roasts my potatoes - if we allow the market to run itself without social engineering, the employer who does not have to pay an excessive minimum wage to everyone, (including the losers) can then afford to pay more to his better workers, more to the ones who know more. More money for those folks doing the above trying to build a better life for their family. The unskilled workers then have motivation, something to work toward, some reason to try harder. The ladder of success should go vertically - start at the bottom, work your way up. But the Dems want it laying on the ground, horizontally so it's "fair". But all it does, all socialism does is prevent anyone from truly succeeding but setting low pre-determined standards of living, and then crippling industry to keep them all even, fair.

Would someone please explain to them that life is not "fair". My 8 year old can tell you that little fact of life. It ain't fair.

Did I mention they are hypocrites?I'm allergic to rotten acorns!
You should also see how much money Obama is giving Acorn in his great big socialist goody bag!

Thank allah for muslim sympathizers!

Obama makes his first television interview as President by doing a spot with an Arab reporter on Arab tv. He elaborates on his muslim family, his life lived in muslim countries, the largest in fact Indonesia. He goes to great pains to explain how he respects muslims, understands them, how he wants Americans to know that muslims want the same things we do.

For this he is applauded, and praised. The liberals are nearly O-basmic over it. "See THAT is what we need!" whew, they breath a sigh of relief and think now they won't bomb us anymore. That was all we needed, just to talk to them. Take the blame, tell them we respect them and World Peace is acheived. Anybody wanna shoot hoops now? Seriously in a week the man has single handedly solved every problem we have so why not play a little one on one in the new White House bball court? I thought we were told for four years NOT to say Barack Hussein Obama because people will think he is muslim? I thought it was racist to say he is a muslim sympathizer?
Yes of course the annoying little thing known as history is a bother but it doesn't bother so much if you ignore it. Desiring peace with the Japanese, and engaging in talks with them did not prevent them from planning and carrying out the bombing on Pearl Harbor. There is no lesson to be learned there. Isolationism didn't keep us out of WWI or WWII, pesky details.
The Stock Market crash in 1929 was NOT the beginning of the Great Depression. It was a beginning of a Great Recession. Hoover, and Roosevelt with their policies, free programs, enormous government tax and spend principles - creating Social Security (a mess we are still cleaning up) turned the Re-cession into a De-pression. A different approach would have gotten us out years earlier. Of course we didn't have the benefit of living through it then...now we do have the knowledge and they are going to ignore it.
The stimulus package is a trojan horse. It's meant not to stimulate the economy but rather to make giant leaps forward in socializing more and more private industry. It's the government with their hands in every pot (they are stealing back the chicken they promised). This is the opportunity they have been waiting for, they get to make a New, New Deal.
I'll post the details of the stimulus package next. In the first week this man has managed to screw up about a dozen different things. wow.
Of course now that the terrorists know we have a muslim sympathizer as a leader they won't want to hate or bomb us anymore. Man why didn't we think of that- appeasement, concession, surrender? This is brilliant! It's a good thing he went to Harvard.
Maybe we'll be safe during his term. Clinton didn't enforce our peace treaty with Irag and we were mostly safe at home...of course, they were just using the time to plan the "big one" but I'm sure that won't happen again. Clinton was the first black President and he told the muslim world we were wrong for going into Iraq and helping Kuwait. They only bombed the World Trade Center and the USS Cole which doesn't really count because how does that even affect us!?

Not feeling stimulated

Below is a breakdown of the proposed stimulus package. I know it's boring but browse it.

First problem I want to be sure gets out there is that most of the money in "rebates" or that might actually find it's way into the economy doesn't hit the market until...guess when? Mid-term election time, yep about 16 months from now. Completely unveiled attempt to keep control by sending people checks.

Lots of this money goes to buy things like - new hybrid cars for government employees and new computers. Does this stimulate the economy? Some argue it does. I say nope, not good enough.

Government contracts are fat for the companies but overpriced and ripe for corruption. It doesn't translate to more jobs if half the product can be turned out and sold for the same price.

How does contraception and more cash for Medicaid stimulate the economy? It doesn't. It promotes their agenda, their worldview. The Democrats have unfettered power and they are monopolizing on it by ramming through every program they ever dreamed up in this so-called "stimulus" package.

The infrastructure stuff is good, but do we really need to pay for broadband to rural areas? In these difficult times really is that a priority? This is a lot of money that our kids will be picking up the tab for in a couple decades. We need to pay very close attention to what is being spent, who is cashing the checks, and who is getting rich, who is really getting stimulated?

So...

[Sources: Associated Press: Highlights of Senate economic stimulus plan; January 23, 2009; WSJ: Stimulus Package Unveiled; January 16, 2009; Committee on Appropriations: January 15, 2009] When is the money being is going to be spent, and on what? The government wouldn't be able to spend at least one-fourth of a proposed $825 billion economic stimulus plan until after 2010, according to a preliminary report by the Congressional Business Office that suggests it may take longer than expected to boost the economy.

The government would spend about $26 billion of the money this year and $110 billion more next year, the report said. About $103 billion would be spent in 2011, while $53 billion would be spent in 2012 and $63 billion between 2013 and 2019.

• Less than $5 billion of the $30 billion set aside for highway spending would be spent within the next two years, the CBO said.

• Only $26 billion out of $274 billion in infrastructure spending would be delivered into the economy by the Sept. 30 end of the budget year, just 7 percent.

• Just one in seven dollars of a huge $18.5 billion investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy programs would be spent within a year and a half.

• About $907 million of a $6 billion plan to expand broadband access in rural and other underserved areas would be spent by 2011, CBO said.

• Just one-fourth of clean drinking water projects can be completed by October of next year.

• $275 billion worth of tax cuts to 95 percent of filers and a huge infusion of help for state governments is to be distributed into the economy more quickly. [Note: The CBO's analysis applied only to 40 percent of the overall stimulus bill, and doesn't cover tax cuts or efforts; a CBO report outlining all of its costs is expected in the next week or so.] •

The Obama administration said $3 of every $4 in the package should be spent within 18 months to have maximum impact on jobs and taxpayers; if House or Senate versions of the bill do not spend the money as quickly, the White House will work with lawmakers to achieve the goal of spending 75% of the overall package over the next year and a half.

[Source: AP: Three-quarters of stimulus to go in 18 months; January 22, 2009; Bloomberg News: Much of Stimulus Wont Be Spent Before 2011, CBO Says; January 20, 2009; link]

Who will be spending the money? Will the states be receiving any money to spend, community organizations? Churches? The economic stimulus plan now moving through Congress would shower billions of federal dollars on state and local governments desperate for cash: •

The House stimulus bill includes an extra $87 billion in federal aid to state Medicaid programs.

• It allots some $120 billion to boost state and city education programs.

• There's $4 billion for state and local anticrime initiatives in the legislation, not to mention $30-plus billion for highways and other infrastructure projects.

• $6.9 billion to help state and local governments make investments that make them more energy efficient and reduce carbon emissions.

• $87 billion to states, increasing through the end of FY 2010 the share of Medicaid costs the Federal government reimburses all states by 4.8 percent, with extra relief tied to rates of unemployment.

• $120 billion to states and school districts to stabilize budgets and prevent tax increases and deep cuts to critical education programs. Overall, about one-quarter of the entire $825 billion recovery package would be devoted to activities crucial to governors, mayors, and local school boards - making them among the plans biggest beneficiaries.

You gotta break some eggs

Obama restates his commitment to abortion rights
3 days ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama renewed his commitment to abortions rights on Thursday, saying the nation needs to find common ground in the contentious abortion debate so "our daughters have the same rights and opportunities as our sons."

Marking the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Obama said in a statement that the landmark Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion represented a broader principle that government should not intrude on private family matters.

"On this anniversary, we must also recommit ourselves more broadly to ensuring that our daughters have the same rights and opportunities as our sons: the chance to attain a world-class education; to have fulfilling careers in any industry; to be treated fairly and paid equally for their work and to have no limits on their dreams," Obama said. "That is what I want for women everywhere."

Obama issued the statement as elsewhere in Washington and around the country anti-abortion rights activists marched in protest of the 1973 court case that legalized abortion. Up Pennsylvania Avenue, tens of thousands of abortion opponents rallied on the National Mall amid concerns they could face political setbacks under Obama.

Obama won election by emphasizing how the country could work together, even on difficult issues such as abortion. His across-the-spectrum approach brought together a political coalition that he has sought to sustain during his first days in office.

"While this is a sensitive and often divisive issue, no matter what our views, we are united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, reduce the need for abortion and support women and families in the choices they make," Obama said. "To accomplish these goals, we must work to find common ground to expand access to affordable contraception, accurate health information and preventative services."

American public opinion about abortion has been fairly stable in recent decades, with polls almost always finding a narrow majority saying the procedure should be legal in all or most cases.

(The above piece is an AP article)

Did you notice what he wanted for all women, all our daughters? Education, career, equal pay, and no limit on their dreams. The only conclusion to be drawn from these comments are that the unborn children are an obstacle which cannot be overcome in attaining success.

Unplanned pregnancies can pose challenges of course but are they insurmountable? How many of us were unplanned? Does this mean that women who would "choose" motherhood as a life's work, unlike his own wife, who devote their lives to family, faith, personal growth and service have somehow missed out? Are just plain wrong?

Yes and yes. This precisely what they think. In fact many go a step further and say to live a life of motherhood alone is to do a disservice to all woman. They are not interested in choice. They want all women to use contraception, to attend school, develop their career, enjoy a thriving active sex life exploring their sexual freedom, at some point perhaps have a child or two at most. Then, put the child in daycare, return to their career, allow providers to care for and raise the child until it is a toddler at which time it is placed in state run preschool and then public education. So that this child will learn the same way of life it's mother did and the species will perpetuate itself in kind and ultimately change the world.

So that doesn't sound so bad right? I mean let's face it, it's the reality these days. Except there are a couple wrinkles in the theory.

Is it working?

The first is the notion of sexual freedom. When women engage in their sexual freedom they often find themselves pregnant. Many when faced with the option to abort cannot, will not. Men have been listening. They got the message loud and clear that women do not need men to have or raise babies. They got the message that abortions fix the problem. Are we surprised that they aren't feeling compelled to responsibility, marriage and devoting their life to family and fatherhood? Why should their dreams, education, and career be thwarted by an unwanted pregnancy? Where is their choice? The reality is babies are born out of wedlock, raised without fathers and live in poverty with their mothers. It hasn't gotten better, only worse.

The second problem is when everyone is focused on career and success, no one is really raising the children. If this works so well why so many teen pregnancies, teen suicides, teen std's, teen drug use, children on mood altering drugs, lower test scores, children in therapy, and on and on? Problems that simply did not exist on this scale when someone was raising the children.

The third problem, freedom. True freedom sexual or otherwise only exists with an equal portion of true responsibility. The Democrats keep trying to create new solutions for the problems that their very own worldview perpetuates. Teen pregnancy = daycare in high school. Std's = condoms in the counselor's office. Single moms = free childcare.

They keep thinking if they keep plugging away they will eventually get all the ducks in a row. A few generations will struggle but if we can have unfettered abortions and get women to really understand that everything will be better in the world if they JUST live their lives THIS way, then at some point the bumps will even out and the world will chug along smoothly.

You see they just need to weed out the uneducated, simple minded, manual labor working people who can't dream big enough.

They will of course need your tax dollars to make this dream a reality and there will be a continued halocaust of the unborn until this "change" can take hold but what's a few aborted babies from backwards, uneducated welfare moms, and minorities?

You gotta break some eggs...

Rooms for rent?

Do you have any rooms for rent? Barack Obama will be relocating all the terrorists from the Naval Detention center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. They'll be looking for digs so do you have some room for them?

Maybe we'll keep them in prison. Where? Your town? Your state?

What impact do you think these radical terrorists will have on the prison population? Do you think they will blend in and watch tv or I don't know spend their free time RECRUITING? Can you think of a better pool of potential recruits than a maximum security prison filled with disgruntled, damaged, evil people already capable of unspeakable crimes?

Can we keep them forever now? No. They will get out. It's a certainty.

Where will they go when they walk out of prison? If you voted for this President I hope they come to your town and not mine. I hope they pull up a bar stool at your favorite TGIF. I hope you have to start wondering if the terrorists might opt for a nice soft target like a school, or bus stop. Maybe when people start thinking that way they will realize how dangerous these people are, and how vulnerable we all truly are. Maybe then a huge, secure, military run prison a whole ocean away would seem like hmm...genius?

Will we be able to limit their communications in prison? No. We can't keep drugs, sex, crime, gangs, or anything else out of the prison system so how in the hell do you suppose we will keep these terrorists from transmitting information to the outside? We won't.

The very best, most brilliant part of this assanine plan. There is no plan. He has no idea what to do with them, what the effect will be, where they will go, how they'll be tried, chain of custody of evidence, what rights they get, where they go when they are released, what country we'll deport them to, he knows nothing.

Except this- he had to close it. He promised to close it down and the radicals who love him, are elated that he is making good on this promise. They paid good money to get this accomplished and the puppet in the big suit came through for them like a champ. Those who couldn't figure out who to vote for and went with the crowd...I wish you had paid more attention to the facts. "Close Gitmo!" was a catchy talking point, it fit nicely with "Hate Bush!"

Now pray tell what shall we do with the terrorists? Lawyers, trials, loopholes, and ultimately plane tickets home to the Middle East. Gee, I wonder how they'll be greeted there? I wonder what they will do with their freedom?

This is not just stupid it's dangerous. But maybe we'll keep gas prices low that'll even it all out right?

Barack Obama = more dead babies

Abortion is a pretty black and white issue, I don't mean a racial one. I mean you are either okay with it or you aren't. You either want more abortions or less, period. Democrats try to navigate a gray area they created to suit themselves, but it doesn't really exist. It is something conjured up to ease the consciences of Democrats who know in their gut that abortion kills babies, but whose political leanings in other areas preclude them from being Republicans.

The middle ground on this issue doesn't exist and I can prove it. Obama is restoring federal funding for abortions abroad. Now we can discuss the minutia all afternoon but what it comes down to when you peel away all the blathering...more dead babies. Not less. More.

Worse. More dead, impoverished, minority babies. More dead babies conceived by marginalized mothers around the world. More dead babies whose mothers have no education to even know what they do to their bodies or their children.

Why? Why would Democrats support this? Why would this person who claimed during the campaign to want less abortion make as one of his first actions in office, to lift a restriction allowing more abortions most likely on minorities like himself?

This one again we are told by the left is complicated but it's not. He, (they) know better than those mothers you see. He has decided they will be better off if their babies are dead. He has no answers, NO solutions for their poverty, their ignorance, the mistreatment of women, child rape and the oppression they live in. So... kill the babies, sterilize the mothers and at least they won't breed.

They won't say it out loud very often my friends, but THAT is precisely what they think. Look at the history and founding principles behind planned parenthood. They have no answers, no hope to offer, nothing but a damaged an empty womb. They prefer to spend our tax money on killing those babies than on feeding them because it is cheaper, that's the ugly truth.

Those who decry racism the loudest are at their core racists. They care not about Jewish people under fire in their homeland, not about Muslims oppressed by radicals and terrorists. They want isolationism. They do not want to spend a penny defending them. They prefer to spend our tax dollars on more preschool programs, tax checks for every person even those who refuse to work, oh and on killing more babies around abroad. Joe Biden said paying your taxes is patriotic. This is sickening. Your patriotic contribution will pay for the killing of a poor helpless baby. How can we ask God to Bless America if this is what we stand for? God Change America's heart maybe. Restore her conscience, her moral compass.

Abortion is like this, you either want more dead babies or less dead babies. Short and simple. Barack Obama lied. He wants more abortions, more dead babies, I know he does because he alone made it happen. What a proud first week for Democrats. If you are one of those Republicans or Independents who was swept up in the excitement and helped put this man in office, well there you go - you asked for change and you got it.
